It interests me to see these Geekbench tests however I take them at face value as they don't reflect real world usage @GMEDIA

Geekbench has done nothing of the sort. This is just a click bait, hyper-sensationalised headline.
What Geekbench has done is remove benchmark results of recent Samsung devices from the app to make it harder to compare them among themselves or to other devices. You can still run Geekbench on a Samsung device, they have not been banned in any way.
