I installed today the GOS update. After install I rebooted phone and also wiped cache.

Before update my Geekbench result was single core 1181 / Multi-core 3524.

After update Single core 662 / Multi-core 3584

So single core result halved. I tought this update should have improve the performance but it did the opposite?!?

I do care, I care more than most. I always go on the attack when claims are made which lead people to believe something that's simply not true. It could go on and on about the environmental claims but I already have. Why I'm on the fence is because we are not taking about tangible things here. This is a benchmark that calculates a number via a formula. What are the implications.? Please can someone tell me. We are taking about numbers that mean what? I don't think you can lump all of the UK customers together based upon your extensive research of... what? Me? Several other posts. If you weren't aware we always are up in arms in terms of rubbish deals Vs US and Exynos chip. I've always thought the Exynos had worse picture quality in zoom photos. What is the result of a bad single core score and why are the multi core scores roughly unchanged.

Also if this was apple caught out again me and most Samsung people would be on it pulling there leg saying ha ha Samsung is better than apple and so on ...Samsung get caught and we say does not matter lol. Not important move on lol apart from the Korean Samsung customers who are angry about it ..it could be they are more passionate about there phones over there as there built there (Head office etc) and they want the truth about the phone performance more than we do lol

I'm not childish enough unfortunately to rip into the users of a different rival brand brand of phone in the event of them getting caught out throttling their phones. They did throttle their phones if you remember. I'm not on any side. I've had many brands of phone. Why do you keep on saying I don't think it matters? I asked a simple question regarding single core scores and what they mean? Is it a metric with any value? I'd be willing to bet that since the GOS so has been available for a long time that this has been possibly going on for years. It's only now came to light. It makes you wonder if other companies are doing the same and all the scores are pointless. Just like the car emissions scandal. Seems like many companies actively attempt to skew results in an attempt to pander to performance tests.

The only ones I know caught thottling are OnePlus and Samsung.. apple was a little different they sent out software to older phones to slow down to make you buy new one ...only Samsung and OnePlus been caught thottling there top new phones ..Samsung don't thottle there A series phones that's what I don't understand why only top range phones ..if the chip is too powerful for the top range phone why put in there in first place ?? Or have they saved money on the cooling part of phone ..and other companies have put better Cooling things inside ??
Other companies got better heat protection than Samsung ?

"Single Core performance is important in applications that are unable to utilize multiple CPU cores. You’ll see the largest benefit from high single core performance when using applications that are older, not programmed efficiently to use multiple cores, or if you’re using an older operating system that is both older and not programmed to use multiple cores."

Ok. Just one source I realise and first to find with a date close to 2022 but is it that important? The lying IS important however. You need to trust a brand you buy into.

Not about chips or benchmarks it's about false advertising performance of the phone then thottling it down without telling anyone ..it's called false advertising ...that is what Samsung are being investigated about they promise it does one thing on paper knowing it never will and not telling customers that

Well we agree then. As I said I have actively went out my way to point ppint out misleading advertising and promotional content. These have real life implications and are false advertising for sure. The throttling down thing, is that not getting fixed? Am I confusing two different things here?

The problem Samsung have with the throttleing if they have cut corners with there heat protection and relied on the thottling to help then to completely turn it off will cause a big heat problem as there would never have been thottling in first place

So when they say fixed I'm still 100% sure there will still be some kind of thottling going on as like I said they relied on the throttling to keep heat down so there heat protection alone will not be good enough ....other companies must put better or more heat protection in there phones and don't have to thottle at all ...so if they completely turn thottle off you hope they have not cut corners on there heat protection which like I said if they put good heat protection in the first place there was no need to thottle ..if other companies can do good heat protection with no throttle I'm sure
Samsung can if they did not same money and relied on thottling to much ...we will have to wait and see what happens

They really need to sort out their silicon chips. I think a lot of (if not most) of the Snapdragon Gen 1 chips made were made by Samsung using their 4nm process for the chip this year and interestingly when comparing both in some YouTube videos it seemed like the Snapdragon was less consistent than the Exynos but more powerful and performance dropped after a while to produce a worse overall % CPU potential over time result. If I remember in the videos it seemed like the Exynos dropped almost within to he first couple of mins then remained much more consistent but I'm less powerful. I wonder then if the quick initial drop by was the throttling. My S21 Ultra initially ran so hot I am was astounded. It got much better with time but seriously they need to up their game fast.
