Gallery sync with one drive

My Gallery suddenly stopped syncing with one drive 5 days ago. I have disconnected, signed out, rebooted phone, connected etc again. Nothing has worked. When I try and sync manually it says it can't sync whilst connected to a mobile hot spot. It's actual connected to my home WiFi as usual. I have asked it to sync over mobile data and turned off WiFi. Still won't work. Any help gratefully received.

Couple of things if you wanna try.

1. Make sure gallery and / or one drive have access to your photos and files in their respective app permissions.

2. You could just reset the network connections only.

Just came across the same issue. While trying to figure out what had changed I realised I had installed McAfee VPN on my phone. after turning off VPN I could sync Gallery over Wi-Fi.

Despite the number of people attempting to help, this problem remains unresolved and as  I am the 3rd or 4th person to report it on this thread it must be a reasonably common problem.  Come on Samsung, sort it out!

FIX:

  1. Turn off gallery sync with onedrive in gallery options
  2. Close gallery. Go to gallery app info and uninstall updates (make it factory version)
  3. Go into gallery and turn on sync with onedrive.
  4. Go to galaxy store and update gallery app (latest.)
  5. Click sync with onedrive, issue should resolve.

I got a warning saying my phone was too hot and couldnt sync. But after an hour I noticed it started syncing again. I think this is an issue with the gallery app and not onedrive account integration.

Hope this helps.

It will not working if you are connected with wifi 5Ghz. Changed your router Network to 2.4 Ghz.

Mine says "Can't sync when connected to mobile hotspot". I am not on a hotspot -- I am on my home wifi! This seems to be a new issue. I've tried all of the wipe/reset/uninstall options out there and nothing works. I can only sync by disconnecting wifi and using mobile data. On a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with a family subscription for OneDrive. Please fix this!

I also tried on my 2.4GHz wifi and it has the same error message "Can't sync when connected to mobile hotspot".
