Fingerprint recognition

Hello guys,

I'm looking for any help people might provide as regards fingerprint recognition. My phone simply will not recognize my fingerprints, and I've tried all I can think of. I applied a soft glasses cleaning cloth to the body screen of the phone, I've put talcum on my fingers, I've even tried using my thumb instead but nothing is recognised. It recognises I'm human temperature and so I am able to manipulate the surface. This fingerprint thing is bothering me though. I don't know why. If anyone has any theories or tips then ill be extremely grateful 🙏

Do you have a screen protector? Have you tried turning on touch sensitivity?

I help quite a few people set up their phones and a lot of the time they just sit and hold the screen instead of pressing for like 0.5 secs and then picking up, putting down, different angles ect.

Has your fingerprint worked on past phones?

I would go to support in the members app. Do a diagnostics to find out if any faults come up with the fingerprint. I would also go into settings > security and privacy > screen lock. Redo your finger prints adding more then one of the same finger print. You can add up to 4.

Thanks for getting back ro me. No no screen protector and sensitivity is turned all the way up..I have small hands since I'm 4ft 10 so maybe that's it? No I was pressing for embarrassing amounts of time 🙃

It shouldn't be due to your size. I would contact Samsung support

Sometimes dry skin can affect the responsiveness of the Fingerprint Biometrics @Lowkey369 

Try gently blowing on your finger or wetting your finger. 

Personally I make x² fingerprints of the same thumb which helps.

Even i have the similar kind of issue, the fingerprint sensor is not working since day one, I have run diagnostics checks and as expected it is showing error at fingerprint sensor. How to fix this ?

What works for me is 2 of each thumbs to be registered it never misses and most times my face unlocks it before my thumbs hope that helps
