S22 Ultra stuck in Boot Loop - Can't turn off from recovery menu

This morning, my phone seemed dead and didn't turn on with the power button.

I got it to start booting with Volume Down + Power Button, but unfortunately it is now stuck in a boot loop, alternating between black screen, "SAMSUNG" only and "SAMSUNG Galaxy Secured by Knox Powered by Android", never going any further.

Connecting it to my laptop and using Volume Up + Power Button, I got to the recovery menu. I tried cleaning the cache partition with unclear results:

-- Wiping cache...
Formatting /cache...
Cache wipe failed.
Cache wipe complete.

So did it fail or complete?

This did not help. When I choose Reboot, I return to the boot loop.

Then I tried to shut it down from the recovery menu. It just hung in that state for a while and then returned to the recovery menu:

Any Ideas what I can try next? I'd like to avoid a factory reset if possible.

If Safe Mode cannot be achieved vua Safe Mode  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict. Alternatively long press the power off button and then long hold on Turn Off to get to Safe Mode @hd42 then perhaps a Factory Reset would be the next route.

If you perform a forum search you may find existing threads with some further help or guidence within.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

In the recovery menu, select Device Shutdown. After that, turn on try. If it will hang on the screen saver, press the minus volume key and the power key.it will turn off and try to boot up. Put it in the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes. Do this until it loads.

In any case, this is already a problem, and restarts from freezing will be repeated. That's why many of us came here.

I found a lo t of issues on the forum, but none quite like mine. I can't boot into safe mode - pressing Volume Down when the SAMSUNG logo appears does nothing - the boot loop repeats.

Device Shutdown doesn't work, as documented in the screenshot.

Putting the device in the fridge stopped the reboot loop, but turning it on again just looped again.

After leaving the phone in the recovery menu over lunch, it now shows a black screen. When I pushed the Power-On button, it displayed the green charging circle - even after I unplugged it. A minute later, the reboot loop started again.

After the next stint in the fridge, I could finally turn the phone off. Permanently, it appears, as it now won't turn on anymore 😞

That's not so. Take it. Put it on charge. After half an hour, try turning it on. My s22 smartphone behaved the same way sometimes. I thought he was finished. But I even did this - I put it on a cable at the refrigerator and either brought the power bank out through the cable or connected the charging.

It turned on when charging right in the fridge. All this is nonsense, of course. But there was no other way out. That's how I was able to deliver photos and videos. And now it's a brick reset to factory settings.
