Hi,
The phone starts using the battery power even if the charger is still connected. This is not correct!!!!

The phone should continue to draw power from the charger while connected and not drain the battery, so we avoid draining and recharging the battery unnecesarily when at home/office.

Can we have Samsung please fix the issue? Or is it Samsung strategy to kill the battery faster so we buy a new device?

Thanks

Hello,

Are you using an official Samsung charger? If not you may potentially be using more battery power than your phone is gaining from the charger. If your charger is official, have you tried using a different one?

That's where I'd start, hope this helps!

The passthrough is actually a relatively new feature which hasn't been used in Samsung devices. I don't understand why people love to jump to conspiracies of planned obsolescence or acts from Samsung to damage/destroy their hardware as a means to "force" you to buy a new phone. If you honestly felt that poorly about a company, why are you buying anything from them?

So why did it take Samsung so long to put in a simple feature as this when laptops have been using it for years!!!!!

So long? Do you even know how long phones were even using it?

One thing you seem to be completely misguided on, is that these phones were used like standard desktop PCs. This was never the case, up until about 7 years ago at earliest, around the time Samsung first introduced DeX. Most people would never have a need for being constantly plugged into power. I mean why would you buy an overpriced, weak (in comparison) expensive mobile device, just to use it like some console/desktop PC?

Sorry, I disagree! What about tethering? Tethering, another use case since over 15 years, uses a lot battery power, so why over stress the battery unnecessarily?

You might disagree but even today a phone connected to power full time is far less common and still niche. Also, laptops never used a passthrough for decades, it's one of the biggest reasons why everyone's battery died so often. You also might seem to be forgetting that these phones never had soldered batteries up until around 8 years ago (unless you're an iPhone user). Swapping out for a fresh battery was a simple matter, even for those minority "tetherers" who may have existed 15 years ago... if I recall though, I don't think my original Galaxy S had any tethering so I don't know what you're even on about. You seem to think you're discussing this subject with someone who was born this century.
