After update to UI 6.1 on 12/22, my S22 can't make any call and constant dropping network. Wonder if anyone has the same issue

Hi guys,

It was my mistake to update my phone yesterday. Now, it's intermittently dropping service. Or, if it shows full bar, the other phone receiver would not hear anything from my end. I double-checked the latest update, ran samsung diagnostic, nothing seems to work at the moment!

Please help, i just want to hold on to it until the samsung s25 drops!

You can try Wiping the Partition Cashe on the phone.
I normally do this after a large software update

Turn off your phone.
Connect your phone with a USB cable

To PC or another Samsung mobile
You will see the charging icon on your screen.

Wait till it shows charging with battery percentage.
Next, press and hold the Volume up and Side key simultaneously.
You can press the volume up button just before the Side key.

The Samsung Logo followed by

Samsung Galaxy appears on the Screen.

At this point, release the keys

Phone will boot into Android Recovery mode

In Android recovery mode, using Volume keys, choose “Wipe Cache Partition” .

Use the power button to accept that.

You will then see its cleared.

Then the top option, reboot phone.

Press the power button to reboot the phone and then sign in normally

Hello @s22ultrasucks2024 and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋

Seasons Greetings 🎄

Let's see if we can help to resolve your issue so you can change your Forum user name to s22ultraawesone2024 😉

I appreciate how important it is to be connected.

@Glenntech advises to try a really good troubleshooting step  👌 which I hope resolves the issue 🤞

May I ask Is this happening everywhere or in one particular place 🤔 I'm thinking possible Network Mast issue, or network congestion.

You could also reset the Network Connections in Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset Network Connections, then soft reboot the phone by turning it Off and On.

Sometimes taking the sim card out and gently wipe the chip, and then reinsert it into the secondary sim slot may help.

If you can then try your sim card in another phone just to eliminate a possible sim card failure.

To see if it is definitely the phone at issue if you can then try a completely different networks sim card in your phone.

As well as to try a forced reboot by holding down the volume down key and power button simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it. When your phone resets, you will feel it vibrate.

Please do let us know how you get on.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Same issue for me. Since the November update i have little to no signal for calls or data. Wi-Fi strength is poor too.
It's not my carrier as I use two SIMs. ( three and EE) When I pop those sims in another device I get excellent signal strength.

I've followed all the Samsung suggestions, even factory reset my phone still is no good.

As its out of warranty they want well over £300 to repair it. Which I'm not paying.

They broke it they should fix it!

I'm currently liaising when Samsung support. Not sure how far I'll get.

If you find a resolution let me know.

I tried that yesterday,  and it's till having the same issue. Basically, it has zero signal indoor and outdoor. My wife has an s24 ultra,  and it has full signal wherever mine says none

I am also having same issue Samsung refuses to take responsibility for this issue they will tell you it's a network carrier issue, it's not it is 100% sabotage by samsung to make the device useless.

I have exactly the same issue with my S22 Ultra for the past month since updating. Virtually no network connection which makes the phone useless unless on WiFi. Have tried new sim cards etc. Must be a software glitch - please urgently fix!

I got the same issue (S22 Ultra stuck in boot loop), I was using the camera when the screen froze and then the phone re-started. I saw the message 'optimising apps' which only happens when the phone updates, so I know update was at play. Then it restarted again and went into a boot loop and kept on restarting.

I spent an hour with Samsung discussing options, but they are too stubborn to acknowledge how wide the issue is and how many people it has impacted. They said it needs to be inspected first.

Took it to the official repair shop, who were awful. Basically they said, it needs a new motherboard (quoted £400!). I asked if they have 'diagnosed' the issue, turns out, the technician logic was, since the phone can't be turned on, it must be the motherboard ...

I said even if I was ready to pay that ridiculous money (which I wouldn't), how would you know if it is motherboard, have you diagnosed it? They said no, they can't run diagnostics because the phone can't be turned on and that's why can't be diagnosed. Well, that IS the problem that it is not booting ...

I left with no resolution, Samsung apparently have released this new update OneUI 6.1.1 (I think) that has impacted many S22 line phones, let's see if they own it. Time to switch to another brand, if this is how Samsung are going to treat us.

NOTE: IF YOU ARE READING THIS, AND HAVE BEEN IMPACTED. PLEASE AT LEAST POST ABOUT IT, SO SAMSUNG ARE COMPELLED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT
