Today my 2 Years old S22 Ultra suddenly powered off and a boot loop started. I tried fixing the issue following Samsung community experiences, such as soft reset, cache clear and factory reset, I tried everything and problem does not went away. I placed my phone in freezer and after 10 minutes Phone started for 1 minute and again boot loop started, I visited my nearest Samsung Customer Service Center in Vasundhara Ghaziabad and after few checks and failed software upgrade, Samsung customer care representative informed that Mother Board is short/died and need to replace it. Cost of replacement is so high that I can purchase a good smart phone within that price. I faced the same issue 4 years back with my Note Series - Mother Board Sudden Die within 2 Years. My Uses are non-gaming and are simple -email, chats, camera etc and both the time Phone Died within 2 Years - Such poor quality can not be expected from Samsung. I will never ever buy Samsung Phone Again for sure.

It’s incredibly frustrating to experience such issues, especially with devices as premium as the S22 Ultra and Note Series. Given your simple usage, it's quite disappointing that both devices have had similar issues. It sounds like you've done everything you could to troubleshoot.

In cases like this, sometimes reaching out to Samsung's higher customer support or even voicing your concerns on social media can sometimes yield better support or alternatives. It’s really unfortunate that your experience has led you to leave Samsung.

Hello @CEODS and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum Section for Uk and Eu Members 👋

It maybe beneficial to submit your post in your own regions section of the Samsung Community Forum Section for a more appropriate detailed response.

In the UK if a Samsung phone is past the initial 2 years manufacturer's warranty, then they would charge a fee typically to repair.

Or a person can use any additional standalone insurance they've purchased.

Some bank accounts provide cover as a perk of the account.

Some Household Contents Insurance policies cover phone's too.

Tech js tech and can and will fail from time to time for many reasons from hardware to software issues to accidental bumps along the phone's lifespan.

Before paying a fee for repair one has to weigh up that fee to the current value of the phone ,and that the current phone maybe at or nearing the end of its software and security patches updates.

I wish you all the best.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I had the same issue last week. I tried to fix the issue by updating the firmware. Now i have lost my phone and data. Looks like some samsung software update has caused this. Lot of money and data wasted..

I've been a loyal user of the Samsung Note series since its inception, primarily due to its suitability for my professional needs. Unfortunately, this is the second time I've experienced a sudden loss of data, which has been a frustrating and disappointing issue. While Samsung devices were once known for their reliability and quality, my recent experiences have led me to reconsider. Their lack of a comprehensive warranty beyond two years for hardware is another drawback that has not gone unnoticed. My data full Samsung Smartphone is now a dead body only.

After much consideration, I've decided that my current Samsung device will be my last. I’ve recently switched to the OnePlus 12, and I must say, I’m thoroughly impressed. It offers better specifications at half the price, along with a smoother and more intuitive UI experience. Bye Bye Samsung - atleast for Smartphone Section

Same issue. I've emailed Samsung, lost all data and now my phone completely doesn't work at all. Boot loop since update. Check Reddit too, there are Loads of people commenting and complaining about similar issues in the last few weeks. £1000+ gone down the drain..

I have this same exact issue. Samsung S22 SM-901B (EUX) and yesterday after updating to the October 1 2024 patch level I went into a constant bootloop.

Problem is, you cannot revert the firmware or downgrade, as the latest binary on this patch is C, it is a brand new binary on this October 1 patch.

I have done a full reset with stock firmware and found the following:

1) It still bootloops after the reset, however after 20~ish times (its random) it will eventually land at the greeting screen asking you for your language, google account and samsung account.

If you get here DO NOT turn on wifi.

I have tested this on 2 different occasions, with wifi turned off for different intervals, first time it was off for 20mins, I then connected to my AP and in less than a minute, once it connected and started data transfer, the phone was back into a boot loop.

The second time after resetting and waiting out further bootloops to get back to the greeting page, i did the setup again and then i waited 2.5 hours with it being completely stable before turning on wifi, and again, within a few seconds it was in a permanent bootloop.

Using a phone without wifi in 2024 is completely useless, this needs to be hotfixed ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 2 year old s22 ultra has the same issue, spoken to the Samsung help centre tried all the online stuff (soft reboot, whip partition..)

Seems to affect alot of people since the last update, I'm in UK and Samsung help advisors said the same it's out of warranty (very

surprising after the new update hmmm) wonder if they following iPhone 🤔 like when the did they update and had bad battery issues and so on🤦🏽,

but never the less my issues is it keeps bootlooping and then it starts heating up on the back next to the camera module😡,

realised if I switch the WiFi off it stops doing the bootloop but only for couple of hours, this is very frustrating, I managed to backup the phone with smart switch downloaded on the computer (desktop version of the backup),

This update has messed me up and looks like loads of other people are complaining about it too,

They need this patched this up quickly and send updates to the phones with this issue,

hoping this is just an software issue, shouldn't have updated it and thinking twice if I should carry on with Samsung🤬.
