I have had this phone since it came out almost 3 years so obviously no warranty left

I used this phone with care not a single scratch or fall damage to it

suddenly while I was typing in WhatsApp yesterday the phone froze and went to boot loop

every trick didn't work except the freezer method it works for like 30 second max I cant back up anything

so is this a motherboard failure and what do I do now? did I lose all my data?

The second option is to charge your smartphone. Put it in the freezer with the cable plugged in and connect the cable to the laptop. Leave the phone in the freezer and you copy the data with the cable outside.

If you've had it for 3 years, hopefully you enabled auto backups within samsung cloud at some point. Images and vids might be backed up by Google photos or one drive backup. WhatsApp has a backup system to Google drive, if you enabled it.

support.samsungcloud.com shows if you have any backups and the google photos website will show any images you have backed up

Ideal thing, take it to a samsung store and have them look at it. In terms of getting data off a phone that won't turn on, you're kinda out of luck as there's not a way.

You could try to get into the recovery menu. That'd show if the phone itself is the issue or if the software is the issue. Have a look online how to get to that menu for your phone, it's a button combination of some sort. My thought process is if you can get to that menu, the phone can still do phone things, android is the issue. If you can't get to the recovery menu, the phone isn't phoning anymore.

There are destructive things you can try to fix it, but those would wipe your data so I have a feeling there's no point in even mentioning them

Hi @Meed92

Of you haven't already please use > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/

If a factory reset and then set the phone back up manually i.e don't use a back up does not work or you can't get into the phone ,then even though the warranty is expired Samsung will still assess the phone and provide a costing.

Then you could weigh up the current cost of the phone to see if the costs are warranted, coupled with how long the phone's going to be supported by security patches and software.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

thank you for replying but phone won't let me go into the boot menu it goes there for a second once it cools off then it gets stuck on the boot loop again

I will take it to samsung service center and see how it goes

thanks for help but I tried that already the phone won't go to safe mode it immediately restarts and gets stuck on the boot loop

did Samsung make any call backs for broken phones after UI6.1 it's frustrating to be honest

never had anything like that with all my previous phones

I don't mean safe mode, I'm suggesting something like this. https://www.hardreset.info/devices/samsung/samsung-galaxy-s22-5g/recovery-mode/ just don't press the wipe data option if it works

It's beyond android and more of a bios if you know know what that is on a pc. Again, samsung themselves are probs the best at helping fix this but anything is worth a shot

That's a pain. It might be your battery. With the age of it it could have degraded to the point it dies each time the phone tries to use it. Any chance you can try booting it with it connected to a charger?

not even that 😞  the only thing my phone worked with and for a short period is the freezer method, I put it in the freezer for 15 minutes it turns on fine then after 30 seconds it when it heats up around the camera it shuts off and the death loop comes back

I just want to back up the files T-T

This is the option. That's what I did. Freeze your phone. Take a plate and a pack of butter. Turn off your Wi-Fi and network. Put a pack of butter on a plate. The phone is on a pack of butter. How the radiator will work. And connect to your laptop to start copying.
