Hi @Paulbbristol, to help you identify the reason behind the issue, please send an Error report from the phone within 15 minutes of the issue occurring. You can send this by going into the Members app > Support > Error reports.

Hi @Paulbbristol I take it you have checked the permissions
Settings-Apps-Camera - permissions, ensure Camera is Allowed. Have you cleared the cache of the Camera app.Settings-Apps-Camera-Storage and clear Data and cache and then Restarted Device. Clearing the cache partition can also help.
If that has been to no avail would firstly run the Diagnostic checks in Samsung Members, may well need to send Error Report though as has been suggested.
