Everytime I open the camera app on my S21 Ultra, I get the message: "warning camera failed"

I've tried all the suggestions including doing a hard reset but nothing works.

The camera was actually working fine for a few days randomly out of nowhere but then stopped again and I keep getting the above error message again.

The camera works in other apps like Instagram and WhatsApp but just not in the main camera app.

Does anyone have any suggestions that actually work?

Hi.

Is it showing for all the lenses or a particular lens 🤔

Normally the the 10x has the optical stabiliser, which can fail sometimes.

If it's happening on all lenses it's best to get it checked at an authorised Samsung store or repair shop.

Also after hard reset did you set it up as new?

Normally I advice not to restore apps and settings.

Hi,

Well everytime I open the camera app, I get the message and when I click ok it closes.

The error is only on the back camera. If I long hold the camera app and select 'take a selfie', the front camera opens and works fine. However, when I try to switch to the back camera in this mode, the camera app throws up the same error message and closes.

Yes, I will probably have to get it checked.

No, I did not - I restored my backup from my previous phone.

Ok

Could you just go Settings > Reset and Reset settings only.

Also, you could try the Reset camera settings in the camera app.

And lastly settings> apps> camera> storage and clear cache. And while there allow all permissions.

If you tried all options like wipe cache partition, safe mode, factory reset etc then I think you should visit samsung store or book a repair and get it checked by Samsung.
