S21 Warning camera failed

Hi,

I have had my S21 5G phone for the last 8 months. Two weeks ago, I have been having issues with my camera. To go into detail, whenever I open my camera app the only mode that works is the normal photo mode. However when I try to tap and use the other camera modes such as video, potrait, panorama, night mode, and x0.5 ultra wide I am met with a freezing camera followed by an error (warning camera failed). I have tried everything from past reviews such force stopping the app, clearing cache partition and data plus rebooting my phone. All which have failed. 

 

Please any assistance on what the problem may be and if hardware how do i solve it

First try a hard reset

With the device powered up, Hold the Volume down button and Power button simultaneously for 10 seconds. The screen will go off. Continue to hold buttons until the device vibrates and the Samsung logo appears. Release buttons. Device will reboot. Once done, please check if the issue is resolved.

Try clearing the camera cache too

I did try all this. Unfortunately didnot work. Could be a hardware issue

It's certainly possible. At this juncture, I'd perform a full factory reset. Back up important data if you need to. When reset, do not install any backups or load any 3rd party apps. If the camera is still not operating normally, then by all means, have it inspected by an authorised Samsung repair centre.

I found a work around. I downloaded an app called Ai capture. It allows you to manually select which camera you want to use before it launches it. 

 

I've noticed that with mine, everything but the rear secondary camera labeled as hardware 2, the one that's the 100x, and it will work. 

 

Other than that, someone at Samsung dropped the ball.
