@Mel41kr: Is your Front camera still working as expected outside of Messenger and WhatsApp video calls? To test the hardware, please head to the Phone app > Dial *#0*# into the Keypad > Select 'Front cam' from the series of grey tiles. Is the viewfinder clearly visible here? If so, please head to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp (as an example) > Permissions, and make sure that 'Camera' is allowed. I also recommend restarting your phone to address any software issues that might be a contributing factor.

I am having the same issue with my Samsung note 10 lite after update to Samsung latest software. This is embarrassing.

same thing to my note 10 lite. only whatsapp have this issue. wonder if other samsung model will have same problem after update?

Same problem on my Note 10 Lite. Looks like it is specific to this model. I've checked on Samsung Galaxy A32 -everything works fine.
