Why can't I COMPLETELY restrict mobile data and Wi-Fi access to an app?

Earlier I was using OnePlus where there is a possibility of COMPLETELY blocking internet access for any particular app. I am NOT talking about data usage in background. I could select a particular app -> restrict mobile data and/or wifi access. Also, there is an option to toggle background internet access.

Currently, I have Galaxy A50s with Android 10 (One UI 2.0). I have no way to completely block internet access for an app. There are a few options I found however, they all either require root or install VPN.

Why has Samsung removed such a native feature that is available in stock Android??

Am I missing something? Can anyone help me here?

Cheers!!

My Norton security has just introduced a feature about which apps are data harvesting, or have suspicious permissions, & the calculator appeared among a bunch of others! Permissions manager says none allowed & none denied but when I checked it has full network control of my phone! WTF?! All these things you can't uninstall now like Android Auto - Google AND Samsung are getting worse. I just bought an S23 and really wish I hadn't after reading this thread

you can just check whether it is permitted to use WIFI or data and you cannot restrict both of them

I figured this out on my own, but it doesnt work. My kids have phones with like 500 mb of data but I only.want them using data for certain apps. Right now they are not using any as I have wifi and mobile off.  The method you wrote about, when using the little.games.they play still throw up ads but when everything is off ads are off too
