Samsung Mail POP3 sync deleted mails

Have bitten the bullet and bought an A35, porting everything over from my trusty Huawei has been fairly straightforward. Main issue is an email client. I have multiple POP3 boxes so I use my phone to preview them before downloading them onto my PC later.

Strange omission from Samsung Mail is the inability to sync-delete mails from the (Samsung) Inbox if I delete them from the server myself later (using my PC mail client). My Huawei deleted from the Inbox any that were no longer on the server, now my phone has taken charge and I have to delete the entire  Inbox manually.

Are there any more versatile email clients that users can recommend? Preferably without having to subscribe to them.

TIA

@Lurkalot: From what I understand, you may wish to try setting the accounts up in Personal (IMAP) format, as any changes made to the account will be synced at the server side, while changes made to POP3 accounts will only be reflected on the registered device. Alternatively, please open the Email app > Tap the 3 lines in the top left > Tap the cog in the top right of the pop-up window > Select your account > Scroll down to Server settings > Delete emails from server, and select your preference from here. I'm not sure if this works the other way round i.e. if you delete an email using your PC client, it will be deleted from the Samsung Email app, however it is worth exploring as an option.

If the issue persists, I recommend registering the accounts to Gmail, as this supports a host of third party providers, along with POP3 and IMAP accounts. This can either be done by opening Gmail > Tap your profile in the top right > Add another account, or via Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts > Add account > Personal (IMAP).

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have a few domain names and POP3 mailboxes, main thing is I keep the mail databases on my own local network so I can back them up locally or restore or move to another PC, that's how it evolved historically. IMAP wouldn't work for me though that might change in the future.

ref Deleting mail from server option -- unfortunately it's not possible to sync-delete from the Samsung inbox, ie if I subsequently delete a mail from the mail server using my PC, Samsung Mail does not offer the option to sync that deletion in its own inbox. Seems all POP mail stays in the Samsung inbox for ever, until I delete it manually. My Huawei offered an option 'When I delete emails from the server/ sync deletion in inbox'. It's not a train wreck but it's pretty onerous to keep on top of it. Guess it's optimised for IMAP.

Thanks for looking, still interested in email app recommendations.
