Recycling bin not deleting files after 30 days

I have Samsung Galaxy A52, One UI 6.1 and the recycling bin is acting up a little.

There was a suspicious amount of trash reported in device care, so I used SD Maid to analyze closer. Turns out there are files from over 3 months ago still in .Trash, despite not showing up in Gallery or My files trash (so one would assume they were deleted after 30 days, but no).

I had the same issue earlier this year, but I thought it was a one time bug related to whatever, so I manually cleared all of the old trash and moved on, but now it's happening again.

But I don't want to clear everything every time I just so happen remember, when the phone should be doing this on its own without my supervision. I also want to keep the regular 30 day period, so disabling trash bin altogether is not an option.

Any ideas what the cause is and how I can fix it?

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Forum

In the Samsung Gallery, there is (as you know) a recycle bin so instead of immediate deletion you can opt for a bit of a safety net.

However in the Recycle Bin it states that items deleted from

My Files
Gallery
And "some third party apps" are deleted after 30 days.

Is what your deleting falling into 3rd party?

Nope, it's regular video files that I have deleted myself from gallery.

Could you please guide me to where I can do that?
