Samsung Galaxy A14 charging issues

My husband has a Galaxy A14.  When he plugs it in to charge the screen comes up with an error message.  I've tried using different cables, different plugs, taking the cover off but nothing.  When it does work it charges really slowly.

Any ideas what else I can do or do you think the phone is faulty?

Could possibly be some dirt or debris in the charging port, especially if it's happening with all other combinations of cable and chargers. Look into the port, use a torch if necessary. Blow into the port, but don't go poking any metal objects in there.
Presumably, you know that the other cables and chargers are fully working and are official Samsung accessories. Has the device sustained any damage recently or been dropped either onto ground or in liquid.

@Members_zbMFzlS: Please can you clarify what the error message says when you connect the phone to a charger? In the meantime, if you have access to a home computer, please connect the A14 to the computer using the USB cable that came packaged with the device, to see if the issue persists. Also, please head to Settings > Apps > Tap the 3 lines to the right of 'Your apps' > Show system apps (toggle this on) > OK > USBSettings > Storage > Clear cache > Clear data > Press and hold the Side button > Restart.

Hey @Members_zbMFzlS

Can you run the diagnostic tool found in your Samsung Members App to see if that highlights anything.

If not then try > Usb reset.

Settings > Apps > Tap the 3 lines with the downward facing arrow, to the right of 'Your apps' > Show system apps (toggle this on) > OK > Scroll down, and tap on 'USBSettings' > Storage > Clear cache > Clear data, then restart your device.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Hi all,
I had the exact same problem one week ago, still persisting, after I installed the latest update from Samsung (version A145RXXS6CXF1 / A145ROXM6CXF1 / A145RXXS6CXF1 ).

There are different cases:

  • phone connected with cable 1, to fast charger official Samsung: not working. Both the cable and the charger are working with another Samsung phone I have from my office (A52);
  • phone connected with cable 1 to pc: not working;
  • phone connected with cable 2 to fast charger: not working (the cable is working with the other samsung phone from office);
  • phone connected with cable 2: luckily working for charging;
  • phone connected with cable 2 to pc to make a flutter build: not working as adb initially recognizes the device, then it stops immediately and the device is not listed anymore. Luckily the wireless connection with adb is working.

@AndrewL I tried to apply the suggestion, it did not work in my case.

@BandOfBrothers I tried to apply also this suggestion. The diagnostic suggest to change cable, but both cables are perfectly working with the second phone (a52).

Can you help me to solve this issue?

@Robin999 also tried to blow into the port, nothing changed)

Try a hard reset

With the phone powered up, Hold Volume down and Power buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. Screen will go off. Continue to hold buttons until phone vibrates and Samsung logo appears. Release buttons. Phone will reboot. Once done, please check if issue resolved.
