Hello, I'd like to both inform and to ask for help regarding a severe degradation of performance my Galaxy A52 has had ever since the last march 2025 update

 One UI: 6.1

 Android: 14

Version: A525MUBSBFYC1/A525MOWABFYC1/A525MUBSBFYC1

My phone had a decent to great performance, but ever since this update it got laggy and sometime unresponsive.

The worst part is that as far as i remember march was the last promised update for this model and we go like this? With an update that completely breaks the devices performance and battery?

I need help with this, i use my phone for work!

Thank you in advance.

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Customer to Customer Forum

Sorry to hear of your users.

Have you Wiped Partition Cache at all on your device? This is recommended after each major OS update and every few security patch updates

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer USBC to USBC (you may also connect to another Samsung mobile via USBC). Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

The A52 is no longer supported. So you might have to consider upgrading if you want to continue receiving updates. The A56 is a good choice as its guaranteed updates up to 6 years

This is not a solution, in fact it's indirectly implying that this update made the phone worse so users are pressured tu upgrade a perfectly working phone, which is called programed obsolescence. (illegal in some countries).

The phone worked absolutely perfect until the last march update, this phone is not struggling to keep up with modern apps and it has no deprecated tech.

Even worse for your argument, the A56 has LESS features than the A52 because of the removal of both Audio jack and SD Card.

In conclussion, if Samsung in fact made this device slower so users are pressured to update to a worse phone, I'd would never upgrade, i would either use any custom software or buy another brand and definitely never recommend samsung to anyone.

If samsung actually messed up with the update and added bugs that unintentionally slow down phones (which is actually the case, this has happened to almost all samsung devices after this update according to my research) then it means that samsung messed up a working device and immediately after abandoned it, wich is even worse...

I appreciate your answer, but there's no reason for upgrading a devices that has been working like day 1 until a buggy update.

Have a nice day.

Have had no issue with my phone till very recently with all the issues stated here

Apart from my now battery draining issue which is annoying I have no reason to upgrade phone so hoping the issue resolves itself, I hope this isn't to deliberately make us get new phones because like I said my phone is working fine apart from the battery draining too fast

im not certain if this is programmed obsolence, ;ut its pretty suspicious that the last update for all devices of this generation has the same issue.

What im certain is that even with this update being bad, Samsung will definitely not fix this and has already abandoned this device and that only makes me certain about never buying this brand again.

Now, this hardware is still great so I will change my OS with a custom ROM next year and i suggest all users of the galaxy X2 generation to do the same, because newer Samsung devices are more expensive and have less features.
