Ever since I updated my Samsung Galaxy A56, the battery performance has significantly worsened. The phone now drains much faster than before and heats up excessively, even with minimal use. What's more concerning is that it loses around 1% of charge every hour, even when it's completely idle.  #Samsung galaxy a56 5G

I am sorry to hear you're experiencing some problems with your phone, @Khalid31. Make sure you're using a genuine Samsung charger to ensure your phone charges properly and is safe. There are a few steps that you can take to help resolve this issue:

  1. Check your Battery Usage. Open Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Select Usage since last full charge. If it shows an app using up a lot of power, then clear the cache of that app. Go to Settings > Apps > Tap on the sort by icon next to ‘Your apps’ > Show system apps > Tap OK > Tap on the app you'd like to clear the cache from > Storage > Tap Clear cache.
  2. Try a soft reset to see if that helps (Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons for 10 seconds until the phone restarts).
  3. Make sure your software is updated (Settings > Software update > Download and install).
  4. Start your phone in Safe Mode. This will help us see if a third party app is causing the issue with your phone. You can follow the steps on our website: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/

Hi @Khalid31 you could also clear the cache partition as that has not been done recently.  Sometimes temporary cache files can become ourmoded or corrupt and is recommended after updates.

1. Turn off the device.
2. Connect To Computer , other Device or TV USB, Press and hold the Volume Up key and then press and hold the Power key
3. When the Android logo displays, release both keys.
4. Wait until the Android system recovery menu options appear.
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Another idea is to reset the Battery stats if necessary. . Ensure Auto Blocker is turned off in Privacy/Security Settings.  Dial *#9900# in the Samsung phone app. Scroll down to Batteystats Reset and Tap on it ,now Restart your Device.
