My A40, Model number SM-A405FN/DS is doing some odd things. I have it set to open using my fingerprint or pass number and do not have face recognition.

Some of the odd things I have noticed:

Phone on standby in trouser pocket, no apps loaded, Phone beeps and on checking find it has opened an app or even an app it shows I have not even installed or downloaded.

Phone does not ring or maybe gives two rings and goes straight to answer phone. The phone just shows a missed call but it did not ring. I am having to phone the caller back each time.

The other morning with my phone in my pocket I heard a notification chirp, I pulled out the phone and found it had called my cousin 4 times, I had not called him for months! Seems I had got him out of the shower 3 times in 5 minutes!!

I set the phone to ‘do not disturb’  at night except for Favourite numbers - close friends and family, also the house alarm notification to  this phone, then the wife’s, then a friend  of ours who lives around 6 miles away who will drive over. 03.00 the alarm goes off, wakes us up, the wife’s phone is her handbag turned off. My phone does not ring, my friend is then woken up but is away on holiday. I check my A40 and find that all contacts are set not to ring when do not disturb is active whereas the Favourites were previously excluded from do not disturb and so  set to ring. I certainly did not change that setting.

I also find an app is open, like Solitaire, it is not always on the first screen solitaire is launched after GameLauncher.

There have been other odd happenings.

My phone, landline and Internet service provider is BT and am also using BT Mobile Data.

I have Bitdefender Mobile on my BD subscription, and that has not shown any indication of infection.

Are these known issues? If so, are they specific to certain phones? I will buy a new phone if these problems are common to the A40 or A Series but if it’s general with Samsung phones I may need to look elsewhere, as long as I can sync to my Wife’s A10.

Any suggestions as this is driving me mad and missing important calls is not an option. I have scanned for malware etc and nothing shows.

Thank you, my old brain cell is not as good as it was. If I set to no body detection, I assume it will still ring if some on calls?

I do use the side button to lock it so does that not stop these odd happenings?

Thanks for your suggestions, I have done what I can but still am having odd instances of apps opening themselves. Google asking my if I want to install an app I had never heard of and never downloaded!
