Phone thinks it's overheating so now it won't fast charge

So a few days ago my a53 overheated while playing games so after my match I let it cool off first then drained it but when I charged it had an overheating symbol and it won't charge unless I re enter the charger. Then I drained it again with the same result even is the phone is cold asf it still thinks it's overheating. So I concluded that my phone somehow tricked itself into thinking it's overheating and now it charges for 1 hour for 10%.

Hello, first I would recommend downloading a battery monitoring to see what the battery temperature is when you're charging. After this issue has been resolved you can delete it.

I would recommend the battery guru app. I would also advise for you to run the phone diagnostic which is located in device care via setting or within this app under the support tab.

Once you have the battery temperature or have done the phone diagnostic that should give us a battery idea if you have a hardware issue or software issue.
