Hi all
I was looking for some info about this and found a very similar thread on here:
Apart from my model being an A12 (rather than an A32), my situation is almost identical to that topic.
I bought the phone new in 2021 so the warranty is passed. I use it lightly, mostly for text messages and 2FA stuff (bank accounts, etc). I don't spend hours using apps or browsing, or even leave the house with it very often.
It worked fine until a few months ago, then started occasionally not charging.
Today I saw a new notification while trying to charge it saying something like "charging has been disabled as the port was overheating".
I gave it a few hours turned off, then tried to charge it again. Instantly there was a strong smell of burning and a few wisps of smoke from the charging port. The charger is the one that came with the phone.
Obviously I'm not going to try that again.
Luckily this didn't happen when the phone was unattended.
The phone still works, but is on maybe 20% battery at the moment.
Unfortunately the only reply to the other thread is from a mod and I guess it went to PM after that. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Are you not thinking of getting it looked at professionally?

@JasonDublin: I'm sorry to hear that you have experienced this issue with your Galaxy A12. If you are based in the UK or Ireland then please send a PM to Sam_UK by following the steps in the link below, and myself or one of the other mods will be able to get this escalated for you.
Just to let you know, this is so we're able to collect some details from you, which isn't possible on the public forum due to data protection regulations. We'll keep an eye out for your post.

Thanks
I've just webchatted with Samsung Support about; the matter has been passed on to their Engineering Department as "urgent"... or something like that; could be a couple of days before I get a reply.

Quick followup.
After PMing the mods with a few details, I got a phone call from Samsung. Very friendly and professional. Thanks again AndrewL for helping with that.
The upshot though was that Samsung would collect my phone, wipe it and see what needed fixing. The process would probably take two weeks, wipe the phone (as mentioned) and likely incur a repair cost as it is out of warranty.
In the end, I followed some advice in a PM to buy a new charging board from Amazon/ebay. It arrived today, installed it without difficulty (maybe 20 minutes) and the phone charges normally now.
The PCB is third-party so I'll keep a close eye on the phone while charging, but it looks very promising.
