Phone charging cable&port

Hi today when I put my phone on charge I hear nosies like alert and I smell burning plus smoke coming from charging port I immediately take off from charge but there is heavy burning smell and smoke coming from cable and inside phone charging port and I recently I buy new phone A16 5g including original cable could please help me why this happened now I am scared because this time was lucky I was wake and near the phone this is serious issue( A16 5g)

I would immediately stop usage and contact Samsung support.

That absolutely isn't normal.
Keep the phone port clean from dust, lint, etc. Stick to Samsung official products only to be sure.
Make sure to dry the phone after getting it wet before charging. Be wary of third-party repairs/self-repairs—not recommended.

Beyond that, this isn't normal, and I wouldn't worry about it on your new device.

Hi, sorry to hear this, that must have been a bit scary. You mentioned about it being a new phone and cable, just wanted to ask if you were using a good quality charging adapter too? But I agree with johnz237, don't use it and contact Samsung
