Not able to set up Samsung child account

I’ve purchased two Samsung A55’s. 
one for my son who is 11 and one for myself.

There is no ability to add him as a child on my Samsung account. The Family section is not showing for me to add him.

I spoke to Samsung technical support today but they could not see why and only offered that maybe the function has not been rolled out yet to the A55.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I can't imagine that Family Group set up to use a child account would be impacted by the model itself. But don't quote me on that. I also cant find any supporting articles suggesting its restricted to certain models 🤔

I remember having the option on my S22U and I see it on my S24U.

Are you going to Settings > Clicking the option for Samsung Account (above connection) on your phone then going to Family?

Not in a53 5g samaung account App and features settings aswell

Yep the family option is not there. The tech guy said that it's on all the S models but thinks because it's quite new out that it's not been rolled out yet to it. Which is frustrating as there was nothing to say that it would not be there before I purchased it.

Can I sign in with my samsung account onto my sons phone instead?

Really frustrating as I want my son to have full features but he can't now.

Hmm. I'm not sure. Had a Google and I saw posts with folk saying it wasn't available on S23 but they were outside UK.

Where did you purchase the phone from?

Have you considered Google Family Link?

I purchased it from a company called OurFriday which is outside the UK. The tech guy said he didn't think this was the reason though?

I have Google family link set up but that won't give me my sons location if his phone is turned off. I also can switch on find his phone without a smasung child account. There are quite a few other features he can't use without having a samsung account.

Can I log my account into his phone? Will that cause any problems with data and sharing my account number on two phones?

The only other thought I had was to go I to a samsung shop and see if it's on their A55's if its not then maybe the tech guy was right that it's not been rolled out onto them yet

I have the same problem on a galaxy s24+

I want to create a child profile for my son, but when I go to settings in my Samsung account, I don't have the "Family" option.

Any news on this?
