Such a shame Samsung has ditched the micro sd card slot this year on the A56. I've previously had the A52 and currently have the A54.

I was planning on upgrading to the A57 next year but it looks like I'll be getting another brand now that still provides that feature.

I have over 50 memory cards and my phone runs fine. I've never had a memory card that has ever broken. If yours break maybe you're mishandling them or bought cheap ones. Cloud isn't infallible, lol, one hacking event ...bye-bye to your files.  I'll stick to my memory cards, lol.

Cloud storage is significantly more secure than you might imagine. Someone steals your phone and takes out the SD card- you lose your phone- gone forever, at least cloud stroage has encryption. Most flagship phones do not have it because it is too slow—and even budget A-series phones are getting too fast for it to catch up. A quick Google search shows the fastest I am seeing is 300 MBps…that is outrageous compared to the 2100 MBps of internal storage on the A56—and that doubles on the S series.

Again, I imagine tech giants know more on this topic than any of us—and the reality is goodbye SD cards. It's like the HDD market, a waste- soon to be E waste

Only reason why I still bought Samsung A phones {A Series} was because of memory expansion. There's no longer any reason for me to continue purchasing Samsung products. Their first error was to get rid of the A7x line. And now THIS. My main need is memory card availability, I don't care about anything else.

No. Cloud isn't an option for me. Will never use it. One hacking event ...POOF!

But I'm sure Cloud is practically money-grab avarice. Gotta make your money, Samsung, I understand. But it won't be from my pocket.

LOL, the probability of anyone stealing my phone is least likely than a fish growing legs and using them to fly. I have 2TB's of music currently in this very phone I'm using. I love popping out my memory card and inserting it on a different device. Cloud can't do that. You're clearly a Cloud-enthusiast, that's cool, I'm not. I'll never use the cloud. I'll just move to a different phone maker.

I don't use the cloud. I'm just informed about where technology is heading.

Your phone can always be stolen; don't act as if you are invulnerable. On the same point, what is more likely—a phone being stolen or a multi-billion-dollar company being compromised?

Most people simply use Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, etc. Your personal experience is not the reality for all.

Regardless of where you go or what brand you use, soon all brands will do the same.

I'm 1,000% invulnerable, lol.

Everything else you said this time became irrelevant to anything, from your strange question, to "my reality" of whatever your reading interpretation created {confusing}.

This conversation isn't going anywhere even if. Enjoy your day!

Delusional thinking that you're different... everyone is equally at risk. It appears you struggle with reality. Regardless, SD cards are being binned and will be a thing of the past.

When I am off the grid, the SD card storage is really helpful to access my numerous photos and libraries. If Samsung doesnt come back with the SD card slot by the next time I upgrade, will have to go for other brands. Samsung is becoming another Apple, not much differentiation left. I didnt choose Apple last time because because Samsung still can expand storage. Cloud doesnt do it, especially in places with low connectivity.

This is a dealbreaker for me. I was looking forward to the A56, but with no SD card slot I'll pass. The A36 doesn't have one either. 😞

A family member lost all his photos because he relied on the internal storage. A couple of months ago another family member's phone broke, but her photos were safe on the SD card.

I save my photos, videos and documents on the SD card, and I don't trust the internal storage and will never trust outsiders to keep them for me (cloud storage).

Ironic that I and my family members use Samsung Micro SD cards in our phones...
