@seachaser: Please can you confirm the model number and current Android version of your phone, located in Settings > About phone? Also, are you using Samsung Messages or Google Messages, and is the issue affecting all contacts, or just certain ones?

@seachaser: Thank you. Are you still able to receive calls from the affected contacts? If you open the Samsung Messages app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > Block numbers and spam > Block numbers, can you see the contact(s) listed here?
If not, tap the Back button to return to the Messages Settings landing page > More settings > Delete old messages > On. Alternatively, try deleting some older messages by opening a conversation from an affected contact > Press and hold on a message bubble > Delete. This will help to verify if the problem is storage related.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

@seachaser: You could also check Settings > Connections > Flight mode to make sure that this is toggled off, followed by Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb > Off. If this feature is switched on, you may have restrictions in place for Messages and not calls.
