I tried just tapping the green button and then I tried tapping and sliding it but neither worked so wondering how to answer?

@AJB8837: When you receive an incoming call, place your finger on the green phone symbol, and swipe to the right to answer. If you're having trouble, or aren't a fan of the swipe motion, then please head to Settings > Accessibility > Interaction and dexterity > Assistant Menu > On > Replace swipe with single tap > On.
Following the steps above, tap the Back button > Answering and ending calls > Press Volume Up to answer, and toggle this on as an additional option. I hope this helps.
