Galaxy A54 5G randomly starts charging off nothing

Hello,

I was standing in the cold when my phone (twice) decided to just randomly start charging. The A54 does not support wireless charging so there's no chance of something I was holding being the problem, and there was nothing in the USB-C port.

I've just recived this phone brand new from my provider around 5 weeks ago. (Yes I know the A55 just came out 😭)

Please can anyone tell me if at least this is a common issue and if it damages the phone at all

Maybe a bit of crud in the charging port. What case, if any, are you using on the phone.

My charging port is completely clean, and my case is a Rhinoshield SolidSuit. It doesn't have any other features than just being a case, plus the A54 doesn't have wireless charging capabilities 😕

Is it the magsafe case?

No, there's no magsafe compatibility with this case or phone whatsoever. (You need a separate ring to stick on for that. I've tried without with no success)
