Galaxy A54 5G Not Syncing Notifications with Galaxy Watch 7 After One UI 7 Update

Hi Samsung Community,

I’m having issues with my Galaxy A53 5G not syncing notifications to my Galaxy Watch 7 after updating to One UI 7. Calls and messages aren’t showing on the watch.

Details:

  • Phone: Galaxy A53 5G, One UI 7, Android 15 (build A546BXXU9EXE1, May 2025 patch).
  • Wearable: Galaxy Watch 7, Wear OS 5, latest firmware (checked via Galaxy Wearable app).
  • Environment: Bluetooth 5.3, devices paired via Galaxy Wearable app, no Wi-Fi sync issues.
  • Issue: Notifications (e.g., WhatsApp, SMS, calls) stopped syncing to watch post-update.

Steps Tried:

  1. Updated both devices to latest software via Settings > Software Update.
  2. Unpaired/re-paired Watch 7 in Galaxy Wearable app; reset watch to factory settings.
  3. Checked notification settings in Galaxy Wearable; all apps enabled for watch.
  4. Cleared cache/data for Galaxy Wearable app and Bluetooth services on A54.
  5. Tested with Do Not Disturb off; no improvement.
  6. Searched community; found a 2024 thread on Watch 6 sync but no One UI 7 fixes.

Expected: Notifications sync seamlessly to Galaxy Watch 7 as before update.
Actual: No notifications appear on watch despite phone receiving them.

Has anyone faced notification sync issues with Galaxy A53 and Watch 7 on One UI 7? Is it a software bug or a setting I’m missing? Any fixes or debug tips? Thanks for any help!

@sophiaisabella6: On your Watch7, please try heading to Settings > Notifications > Show phone notifications on watch > Show alerts even when phone in use > Toggle this option on. Let me know if this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion! The notification sync issue between my Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy Watch 7 is fixed now. I toggled “Show alerts even when phone in use” on the Watch 7’s notification settings, as you advised, and notifications (WhatsApp, calls, etc.) are syncing perfectly. Appreciate the help!
