Galaxy A34 5G keeps disconnecting from wifi after waking

I use my A34 almost exclusively at home because I'm housebound with illness, and connect to the internet via wifi. The phone is great except for one big problem: about half the time after I wake the phone, it will disconnect from the wifi and start using mobile data instead. I have to keep turning off wifi and switching it on again to make it reconnect.

I have tried multiple solutions. I've reset my router. I've made my phone forget the wifi network and reconnect to it. I've selected static IP. None of this works. It's very frustrating and I'm thinking of returning it unless I can solve this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I've had this problem and have also tried everything. However I have deleted the cache and deleted past history in Google chrome. I've been connected to the Internet for 3 says solid without a drop. I've set a reminder to do this once a month. Good luck.

I only brought a Samsung because I have a Samsung tablet that I have had for over 10 years and is still working apart from internet sometimes going offline when using Google chrome. I might have gone back to using my old phone but I dropped it and the screen is hardly readable.

I did a factory reset, which would have deleted history and cache in Google Chrome, but that did not help. The interesting thing is I linked another device to my WhatsApp, both were sleeping and in the same room, the other device got the WhatsApp call and not this one. The other device is an older Motorola phone

I would consider that but I brought my phone from Argos not direct from Samsung

Unfortunately it's just dropped again.

I've turned off Discover in chrome and stopped Google saving search history. So far so good. If this doesn't work it's going back.

It somehow got even worse after a factory reset and updating to Android 14. Literally multiple disconnections an hour. Sometimes it won't happen for a couple of hours. I can't even use my phone to play YouTube/radio to fall asleep to now as the wifi disconnects. I've just arranged a pickup for Samsung to repair. I'm not hopeful, as I suspect this is a fundamental problem with the handset model.

I've had a couple of days now and it's fine. I keep clearing some caches of the apps. I've used. A bit irritating to have to do this but I'm hoping that if they have either enough complaints or returns, they will eventually send out a fix. Apart from this issue it's a great phone .

Well I'm disappointed to have got the following email from Samsung:

Basically they're telling me nothing is wrong with it, despite it being the only device in my house that's ever had this problem.

Rebooting my router did not fix the problem. And repeatedly clearing app caches is not something I should have to do for my device to function properly, even if it did work for me, which it didn't.

So now I have to explore my options as a consumer, seeing as I paid £299 for a device that doesn't work properly.

Sorry to hear that. I have not gone down that route yet but reluctant to now. I have sent error reports but Samsung are taking so long to respond I am going round in circles1709128220092.jpg
