My Galaxy a14 has extend lock. I have put in my address and it has confirmed it. Still, it only works about 1/4 of the time I am home.

Same here with S23U. It's a bit hit and miss unfortunately.

It's frustrating. I know that I only have the cheaper version of the Galaxy. I am thinking about buying a used one even if it is the Galaxy 9 or 10. I got the A14 when I joined T-Mobile service. I thought after 6 months I could unlock it and go with another carrier. Of course, in the fine print somewhere, it says that you have to wait 18 months because you are supposedly paying for the phone. They take off the $9.95 a month, so I never see it. It was just their way to put you on an 18-month contract, even though it's supposed to be prepaid. I was going to switch to Boost Mobile, using another phone that I have that was unlocked.

I went online and saw a promotion where it was $25 a month and you got $12.50 off of the first month. I bought it and they sent me the SIM card in the mail. When I called the number to activate it, who answered the phone? Not Boost, but T-Mobile. The two companies are connected somehow. Anyway, I ended up telling them that I was a T-Mobile customer already and that I was going to ditch their service because the customer service agent that I spoke to told me that there was nothing I could do. They said I was locked into the plan I had as well.

When I mentioned ditching their company and going to another, all of a sudden a $ 20-a-month program was available to me. How convenient. I was going to Boost because they have a $ 15-a-month plan with one gigabyte of data and unlimited calls and texts. Since I am disabled, I am always in my house except for doctor's appointments, so I am on my Wi-Fi. I do not need anything else. They switched me to the $20 a month program, but I have NO data with it at all. Fortunately, with Spotify, you can listen to your downloaded playlists offline, so I guess I can live with that.

Sorry to ramble on, but this happened yesterday and I am still pretty disgusted with T-Mobile. As soon as my 18-month plan is over, I'm going to upgrade my phone and pay to get it unlocked. They can stand in line along with all the other bill collectors. Lol
