USB SSD not connecting post oneui 7 update.

I purchased a galaxy A06 5G and after the first update, there are indeed some usb c issues. What I'm facing is that that sometimes my external SSD (Samsung T5 Potable SSD 500GB) connects and sometimes it just doesn't. Doesn't even turn on the status LED. The SSD itself is fine because it connects to my PC and other brand phones I got lying around but not this phone that's my main phone. I sometimes when reboot this into safe mode and then back to normal mode, then it starts to connect and a day or two later, it goes nuts again! Also, after a reboot, the SSD won't connect or power on outright, you first need to connect to a charger (I'm using the Samsung 25w fast charger) for a second or two and then disconnect and attach the SSD; then only it ever powers on the SSD and it gets recognised.

Hopefully samsung fixes this with an update.

All this happened after that oneui 7.0 update.

The cable, charger, SSD and the phone (not really well tho 👀 )itself are samsung genuine and are functionally healthy and working.

Hi, I would suggest clearing your partition cache as sometimes updates can cause errors with the device. Below are the steps to clear your cache partition:

To clear your phone's cache partition:

1. Connect your phone to a PC.
2. Turn off your phone (it won't enter Recovery Mode if it's on).
3. Press and hold the Volume Up and Bixby/Power keys simultaneously.
4. Once the Android Recovery screen appears, release both buttons.
5. Use the Volume Down button to highlight "Wipe cache partition."
6. Press the Power button to select it.
7. Use Volume Down to highlight "Yes," then press Power to confirm.
8. After the cache is cleared, press the Power button again to reboot your device.

Please let me know, if this fixes your problem with the SSD not connecting.

Thanks for responding.

I had done that too but it doesn't help. Any other methods could you suggest?

Appreciate the response

Ah okay, I am unsure what might be causing it, I will do some looking online and see anyone else has had this problem and see if they found a fix for it. I will post here if I do indeed find a fix or if I I can't I will look into more steps for you.

If you manage to find a fix before I do, please post it in here so if anyone else ecounters the issue I can help!

Hello, again I think I may have a found a fix for you, this might make but I am unsure of it hopefully it does work for you, here are the steps below:

How to Clear the USB Cache on Your Phone
  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Apps
  3. Tap the filter icon (looks like a funnel)
  4. Select Show system apps
  5. Search for USB Settings
  6. Tap Storage  > Clear cache

After completing these steps, try reconnecting your device. This should resolve most USB-related issues.

Please let me know if this fixes your issue.

Ive done it and it works. Tho it still needs aomentary charger connection to work.

Also, I've observed a pattern. At 100 percent battery, the SSD refused to connect no matter if I give it a momentary power shock. But when I got your reply, it was at 83 and when I did the usbsettings reset and followed by a reboot, it did work with a charger shock.

To verify my observation, I charged it all the way to 100 percent and then rebooted it. Refused to connect. Did a charger shock, still refused to connect.

Btw thanks for putting your efforts into finding solution. (Bruh but the situation is still the same but thanks)

Oh really, mhm could just be an error with OneUI 7. But I'll see if I can find anything else or other people experience this.
