How do I alter the amount of rings before voicemail kicks in

The correnct answer is you cant do that.

You can, but have to ask your network provider to do it for you. You maybe on the max number of rings though, just check with them

they wont do that i tried.  So it comes down to you cant.

Yeah your network provider should be able to change it - I got Vodafone to change mine a while ago so phone rings for longer before going to voicemail

Yeah the network can do it but it may depend on what network you're on... Or maybe even what country.
