I am opening up this new message just to revive an existing message that is errantly marked as "Solved", even though the solution that is referenced clearly states that it is not solved. This problem centers around one of the two microphones within the Galaxy A12, mic 1 to be specific, that is no longer working. A growing number of people are saying the same thing has happened with them, which gives indication that something along the lines of a firmware upgrade or something of that nature is creating a problem.
This is a link to the existing still-ongoing discussion concerning this problem, but which is errant...

I also just fixed an A12 (mic on lower side of the phone not working) with the replacement board from this Ebay vendor

The case ia a little tricky to get off, but this fixed the issue.

I think its time for raising numbers for a lawsuit. Samsung doesent want to adress this problem.

Same problem. Tech report told me either repair or get an A15. I am thinking I will continue using speaker and/or Bluetooth until my old, old phone battery fails then I will be going back to Motorola.

I manage the phones at my workplace. We signed 90 new contracts with 3 Ireland in 2022 and we got 90 free A12 headsets for those staff. Today 57 of those devices came back with the Mic not working. Highly likely it is a software update that broke these microphones.
I've factory reset the phone the run *#0283# and checked the loopback on RCV_1stMic and on all 57 mobile phones i have the same issue. If Samsung wants to contact me privately please do and ill supply the 57 IMEI's and even give the phones back for repair. It is such a same that these phones are breaking. First started for me around July 2023

Neither. I have always only used neither one the entire time I've had it. But have had it bluetoothed to my car stereo just for calls though.

I have the same problem too. And the problem is in the hardware! I guess a trip to the repair shop is in order!
