Connecting to devices automatically.

Can someone help. My phone keeps connecting to something and the volume on my phone stops working. The volume display shows a set of ear buds but my phone isn't connected to any devices. I don't possess a set of ear buds.

 How dk I stop this without resetting my phone? It's driving me up the wall I have to have my earphones in soni can hear my phone.

Hey @Smudger24. If you head into Settings > Connections > Bluetooth, here you will find any Bluetooth connections. Tap on the earphones that are shown and then 'Forget' the connection. Hope this helps!

I thought had fixed it but no. I switched off WiFi, mobile data and Bluetooth but it still says I'm connected to head phones.
Could the headphone socket be blocked?

I had a similar issue and I was told to clear the cache, it fixed my issue. Settings>battery and device care>optimise
