I have a C to C cable supplied with my A15. I wish to use my cars USB port to connect Android Auto. Do I buy a new USB to C cable capable of data transfer, Or use the Samsung supplied cable with a USB to C adapter.

I keep reading that the original cable is best. Any thoughts appreciated. Particularly with info of what adapter or what cable. Thanks

Try the ones you have and go from there - won't do any harm. *

* With the assumption you haven't got a dodgy one from a sketchy reseller.

thanks for the reply. I only have the C to C and a charging cable. I think the charging cable isn't a Rolls Royce model.

If the cable fits (C to C), you're good.

Correct, the cable quality shouldn't really matter as long as it fits both ends and is ofcourse usb C. You may have to ensure it is plugged into a specific port in your car though in order for android auto to work (usually there will be a picture of a phone or screen on one of the ports)

Android Auto requires a high quality USB cable that is capable of supporting data transfers. If possible, use the original cable that came with your device.

So is this advice a bit of overkill? I was under the impression that cable quality was vital for data transfer. I'm no expert. I may buy a cheapy and risk it.

You are right cable speeds can very but that's only if you brought the cheapest of cables. Generally speaking most cables provide adequate speeds i.e. usb 2.0 data transfer which is more than enough

Excellent  2.0 data transfer. I will look for this spec for the cable.
