A71 black screens when formatting sd card

I bought a Samsung branded 256GB SD Card for my A71, but when I put it in, the phone says it is going to format it, then after showing 20%, just black screens to the SAMSUNG logo and eventually reboots itself without finishing the format.

Any suggestions?

Are you able to test the Sd card in another phone @TonyC1965
