I bought A54 on Christmas, and everything was working perfectly, especially the audio as I purchased the original headphones from Samsung.
Around three weeks ago during a walk, my headphones randomly started to get a distorted sound. There would be crackling and the music would be completely distorted, I can hear the music but the sound is extremely awful. Whenever I pause the song and resume, it's still there, but when I change the song to the next one and go back, everything is perfect for some time and it just repeats
This is completely random, sometimes It can go the whole day without an issue but sometimes it would start 5 minutes into listening, sometimes after 40 minutes. I sent the headphones to the authorized service of Samsung, and they gave it back with a reply ''The product works as intended'' and that they couldn't replicate the distortion I've been experiencing. HELP

For me, uninstalling Viber solved the issue.

My wife's A54 also has the same issue with 3 different USB-C headphones and adapters (both) that don't have any issue in other devices.

This came back more prominently after December update! Didn't happen before.
Something might messed up Adapt Sound cause I have it enabled (will disable it and report back if it's fixed), I disabled Viber too, so let's see.
Not ready to drop 30$ for an adapter again especially since this one was bought in August and worked fine till I guess the December update.

I'll be waiting for your reply to know if it ends up working fine for you. What a strange issue that we have never experienced before. We've had many phones and never had this before (I usually only buy flagships but this time got her a lower end A54 since it had good specs and she doesn't need more - maybe this is where Samsung cheapens out).

Hey! disabled Adapt Sound and it didn't happen for 3 days now, seems like it was conflicting with the USB C adapter after taking a call, messing around with how the sound is "treated".
Don't take this as a definitive answer or solution, the distorsion may happen again.

Aaaand it happened again! 😞
Not sure what's wrong and why it's doing this, and it's driving me nuts. Now am suspecting it may be Poweramp (the music player app am using) that is conflicting with something system-wise.
It was a smooth sailing since One UI 6.1 released, how can a bug like come back is mind bugging.
