A40 wont turn on due to "fingerprint protection failed" and have never set up fingerprint protection

My A40 wont load past the opening screen with a red message at the top saying "fingerprint protection failed". I have taken it to phone repair shop and have been informed it is most likely a hardware issue.

1. Are Samsung liable for selling broken products. Going through their warranty options the phone repair. shop I have taken it too offer more warranty options than the manufacturer.

2. Has anyone else had this issue

Samsung cover defects under warranty so if you have a warranty put in a claim.

I am also facing this problem with my A 30s. Have you anybody found the solution for this?
