A34 update fails

The latest update has failed to install twice, it says to use smartswitch instead but I don't have a computer. 
It says to contact customer services but gives no information on how to do that.
Any ideas on why the update fails to install, how to fix it or how to get support greatly appreciated.

Hey there

If the update isn't working over the air then SmartSwitch is your next best option. Do you have a friend who you could ask so that you can plug in?

Not conveniently or local. I just looked at the smartswitch app, doesn't seem to have an option to transfer from anything but a mobile device anyway.
I assume customer service will just say the same though.
May wait until the next update.

SmartSwitch is definitely available via a laptop / pc and is one of the fixes when an update doesn't work OTA (over the air).

One more question before I try the smartswitch. The update successfully downloaded, the phone restarted to install it. The OneUI screen flashed on screen before it restarted again, then reported couldn't update.
To me, it seems it's the update package that is failing, not the download, so what difference will the same package downloaded on a computer make?

You can but try.

If SmartSwitch doesn't work, it will either be a factory data reset or send it to Samsung Repairs (who will also factory data reset it)

Tried it over the air again and it worked! 3rd time's a charm 🙂
Thanks for your input though. Just glad I didn't have to do the smartswitch thing.
