After an update last week, the A23 phone wont start. Nothing seems to work, it is completely dead.

SAMSUNG, what's going on with the phone and your update?????

I will tell you what Samsung released to me when I called them about the cause "A software update version XD1 was pushed through FOTA to all international galaxy A23 if the phones are restarted after receiving this update then the phone will have power issues (not power up)

Samsung has already paused the UI6.1 update for the S22 series (probably others) due to them identifying issues, so it's unlikely they would ignore issues with the A23 series. That just doesn't make sense. If enough users report this, then Samsung WILL fix it.

Well, if that's the case, then as with the suspended UI6.1 update for the S22 series in which Samsung has identified issues, they should issue a fix in due course. You certainly shouldn't have to pay for a repair due to a faulty OTA update.

I believe that any court in the land would find Samsung liable for repair or replacement.  I am considering small claims court here in Canada, but perhaps a better option would be a class action lawsuit.  I am first going to contact CBC Marketplace to see if they are interested in following up on this egregious behaviour by a major corporation.  I currently own a Samsung TV, fridge, stove and microwave, but I don't think I will ever again purchase a Samsung product.

Count me in, losing this phone has caused me a lot of grief, being locked out of banking and other apps. Im in Canada its an international version and Samsung refuses the repair.

A class action suite will definitely put a fire under Samsung's execs to be more attentive with their products. Count me in, as well.

We can crowdfund for the suite as well, since it will be a class action. Know any good lawyers?

What bothers me is that I protected this phone with an expensive thick case and screen protector, took so much care of it I wouldnt even let myself charge too much or let it go too low, when it died the battery was mint and lasts 2 days, Im one of those who is very careful with their electronics, never let water touch it or drop it. The last thing I expected for it to die because someone at android decided oh well lets push this update and burn millions of dollars. I thought updating kept me secure, now I am terrified to update. it was 300$ Canadian brand new from Amazon.ca but to me thats a lot, I know people buy phones for 1000$ still.

Update I took my A23 phone to samsung shop in Liverpool (Australia) and they told me they can't fix it as they don't have the software to fix as it is an international model take it back to where you purchased it from and get a refund. Totally unacceptable
