This is One UI 6???
I'd argue this is One UI 4.5
Similar to last year but probably even more this year little to nothing has changed
The slide down menu got a refurb and the weather app a lick of paint (the interactive map bit still missing and probably will never happen) and we call it one UI 6...
It seems Samsung just doesn't even bother anymore
Same phones each year same software..but more expensive
Whilst I might understand that hardware wise is difficult to come up with some new every year software wise the sky's the limit...
That's if you care to offer your users something...these minor changes aren't even worth a .4 to .5 generational jump
Samsung is lazy and probably ran out of ideas or doesn't have people to create something

The Samsung stock apps haven't changed much...the email app is the same it was 5y ago...it doesn't even support the dynamic theme...I mean have they gave up on it?? Then just remove it and stop the bloating...the weather app... this is the best they can do??? Wallpaper themes background... this is what they can do??? Jeez even HTC has better options at this point...no wonder people look at iPhone and think how can they do it and Samsung can't
Also this beta testing is 100% bug identifying no actual suggestions have ever been implemented
So all in all having been part of each beta since they came up with the one UI name...I'm starting to see why is called ones UI... because it's the same UI as it first was... nothings changed and nothing will
So stop making such a huge deal how the next iteration is some big upgrade...is embarrassing now for a company the size of Samsung that this is the best they can do?
And you know why this is... because instead of having 6 phones and making the 6 amazing phones they rather have 67 phones all mediocre and forgotten
Wake up Samsung...

Rubbish take, you don't know what you're talking about. Samsung has implemented visual changes across the lock screen with new clocks and customisation options, completely redesigned the quick settings panel and made substantial changes to the notification panel, rejigged animations, modernised the font across the entire system, added android 14's changed such as predictive back and this is just the surface. Then look at iPhone, which looks like iOS 7 in most places. That's like going back to early-ish TOUCHWIZ. One UI only came out in late 2018 or 19, it's ridiculous to talk about a total redesign within 5 years of its release, not least because much of it has remained the same because it's already very good.

If that's big changes to you then I salute you...your expectations are clearly low and maybe that's why Samsung doesn't bother cz users like you...I have used Samsung and iPhones at the same time for past 6y so I know how each ecosystem progressed... iOS 17 might be a small upgrade to iOS 16 but still bigger than one UI 6 from 5... plus on the software side esp stock apps iOS apps are miles away from Samsung...they design and fluidity is out of Samsung league...you have to use them to know what I mean ...like the level of attention for every little detail... Sammy meanwhile is like some half baked ideas rough edges scratchy animation...they just can't keep on software side with apple and I don't expect but I expect more....thank clock new fonts and colours ...

IOS looks the same as its looked for years and most of the new stuff it implements are featues android has had for years , you can't use Apple as an example of innovation vrs Samsung....

Fine then enjoy your new fonts and clock faces one UI 6 😂 😂
Also if you can bother reading my initial post you'll notice I never mentioned iOS is the other guy who did...so stop picking up on me for something I've not started

With all due respect, you do not have a clue what you are talking about. You look on the surface and claim nothing has changed while failing to see all the enhancements that's happened on a deeper level. You then mention Apple...??? How can one take your post seriously? The only thing you said that makes sense is about the amount of phones they release. You have a point there.

Enjoying the S23 then? Have you ever thought about, you know, buying something else rather than whining here about it?

You wake up man... One UI was released in 2019 with S10 series. It's been only 3 years. In 3 years there are lots of changes

Look, let's keep things a bit respectful and enjoy a debate shall we? At the end of the day we shouldn't care too much about being 'fans' of one company or another - none of them care about us and they just want our money.

That being said, I think the original poster is spot on.

I think those who proclaim this to be a big/great update are guilty of setting the bar really low. We should expect better than this. The hardware on my ultra is stunning. I adore it. But software? Come on - they're either phoning it in and don't care, or they're seriously lacking in talent.

Some of the things I've read above making the case for Samsung:

- modernised the font.

It's a bloody font! That's it!

- the animations

The animations are part of the problem! They're *****! I'm sorry, but the fluidity of iOS is still way ahead of one UI - where are the gorgeous transitions, why only now are we getting half baked non linear animations etc.

Where is the matching, unified set of widgets? Wheres the decent theming ability?

Have you actually seen the absolute dross that is in the galaxy themes app? It's embarrassing.

They should be aiming to make the phone a joy to use - that's what will keep people loyal.

I agree with the lack of any dynamic theme. Become Lazy the software team.
