My monitor was automatically updated to version 1661. When I press the home screen button, it gets stuck on the ‘Preparing… Please wait’ screen.
I restarted the software and tried everything, but it still gets stuck at the same screen.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Guys from Samsung, will there be any adequate response from you? Or where should we go, except for the service center?

I "fixed" it by enabling "Auto Source Switch+" in Connection -> External Device Manager menu. It switched to DP automaticaly so at least I can use monitor.

I have an G8 OLED, but had the same problem as commented before, multiple factory resets, couldn't change source/input and monitor crashed with preparing text at 1-3% with WiFi and at 99% without WiFi.
I had already ordered RMA via Samsung for the monitor when it suddenly started to work. It started to work after factory reset, skipped everything about SmartHub/WiFi, made monitor as "dummy". After one day of usage I finally tried reconnecting to WiFi when talking with Samsung about the issue and suddenly monitor loaded everything and now SmartHub, remote controller etc works. After that I disabled auto update.
One thing I also noticed, everytime "preparing... " crashed at any %, it also defaults all the monitor calibration settings.

I have a fix for you guys which worked 100% for me on G85SB monitor. I was stuck in never ending "Preparing..." loop 1 - 99%.
You need to do "hard reset", then update should finish.
Step for "hard reset":
1) Turn on the monitor
2) Hold down POWER button on the monitor for 5 seconds. On this monitor, there is joystick on the back, you need to press it, menu is opened, move to Power Off option on the menu, then press the joystick and hold it down for 5 seconds
3) Release joystick (power button) on the monitor and immediately press POWER button on the remote and hold it down for 5 seconds
4) Release POWER button on the remote
5) Monitor should be powered off, wait more than 30 seconds
6) Turn on the monitor, you should see setup screen like after Factory Reset
7) Disconnect monitor from power outlet for more than 30 seconds
😎Connect monitor to power, turn it on (it turned on automatically in my case), finish setup but SKIP NETWORK SETUP for now and wait for upgrade to finish 100%. Then you can setup your network.

I can confirm that this type of reset works, though in my case I could not do step 2 (I also have G85SB). In my case I moved to "Power Off" option and pressed the button but there was no any reaction.
But that combination helped:
1. Turn on the TV.
2. Hold down the power button on the TV itself for 5 seconds.
3. Then immediately after, hold down the remote's power button for 5 seconds.
5. The TV will be off for about 30 seconds and then turn on.
6. The TV will enter installation mode. Now unplug the power cable from the TV for 30 seconds.

OMG...
Guys from reddit got answers from service centers - a new motherboard is needed.

This is "default" diagnosis from service center unfortunately. They just don't want to spend time and figure out. I guess you can show them this thread and ask to do full reset. Since that method is distinct from simple factory reset.

I finally got mine working with these instructions! Remember to skip the network setup and it should finally complete the setup.!
