I'm unable to perform firmware upgrade on any of my two Samsung Odyssey G7 32'' monitors.
Setup:

  • Monitor - Model Code - LC32G75TQSUXEN
  • Monitor - Software Version - M-TG700CCAA-1004.0 (both)
  • I've tried to perform upgrade using macOS and win10 devices and three different USB stick (just for sake...), SD Card via USB adapter. USB sticks 1x 4GB USB2.0(Verbatim), 1x 16GB USB2.0(Kingston), 1x 128 USB3.0 (SanDisk)

Steps:
1. Downloaded 1009.3 from Samsung website

2. Formated USB sticks to FAT32

3. Copied downloaded M-TG700CCAA-1009.3[E93D].bin file as is, another try I decided to change file name to M-TG727CCAA-1009.3[E93D].bin as wizard on monitor responded and also as in some forums is suggested I've tried to rename It to M-TG700CCAA-0000.0[E93D].bin . Every time file copied to root of USB drive

Unfortunatelly none of my attempts was successful.
I wonder if there is another way how to perform firmware upgrade or if I can try to use older firmware (?).
I tried to modify URL as current firmware provides like e.g. (VPath=FM/202007/20200717172526336/M-TG700CCAA-1005.3.zip) but without success.

Any recommendation here please (I'm kinda desperate since don't wanna waste my time to send this for a service and wait for a weeks just because firmware issue...)

Yes - I forgot to reply before but I resolved the issue by partitioning my USB drive into 8 different 4gb partitions

Hello Guys,

I have been able to perform the update with 64GB USB drive created through windows 10. Please see the steps below to prepare the USB.

1- Find the USB drive in disk management and delete the volume.

2- Click on create new volume and only put 5000MB to create a 4GB USB total space.

3- IMPORTANT step: Find the new USB volume in My Computer and then right-click and format with FAT32 option. The important step here is to uncheck Quick Format.

4- Copy the firmware file into the drive and use this USB drive in G7 Odyssey

It worked for me and i hope it will work for you as well.

Thank you

Usman

After about 2 hours and many attempts, I was finally successful.

All you have to do it format your USB with rufus instead of windows. I don't understand what rufus does different, but tens of attempts using windows format (which included changing partition size to 1-4GB, trying out every possible allocation unit, with or without a volume label, changing the file names etc.) were unsuccessful, while using rufus worked first try.

USB stick size does not matter. I was able to update my monitor using a 64GB drive; rufus partitioned all of it in one volume and formatted using "Large FAT32 (Default)" + cluster size 32 kb.

The file name really drove me crazy, but I can confirm you can leave it exactly as you find it in the archive. In my case "M-TG700CCAA-1014.1[08C6].bin". Dot in the version and hash in brackets. Don't remove these, it should work with this format just fine even though your monitor might request "M-TG700CCAA-xxxx" (which seems to suggest you should remove the extra details).

+1 <----- THIS WORKS!!!! THANK YOU! Samsung should pin this. I didn't stop to think what might have been different as far as the formatting but rufus worked!

I have tried multiple USB drives, but none worked until I changed drive type from GPT to MBR. The Rufus solution above does the same thing. For future reference, you can use partition managers like Minitol Partition Wizard to convert GPT drives to MBR without losing data.
