This past December, I purchased the Samsung Odyssey G70B - 32" 4k Monitor, model #LS32BG702ENXGO
When I turn my PC on, about 50% of the time, the monitor just goes to that "you have 60 seconds for DP to be detected or it turns off" screen. My second monitor, some old Dell 1440p, running on displayport, ZERO issues and detected 100% of the time. Now, if I unplug my G7 DP at the monitor and plug it back in, it seems to work. That, or I have to restart the PC and hope it detects it.
I have a very high end PC, 7950x, RTX4090, 64gb DDR5 ram, etc... all with the latest drives. I used this monitor on my secondary PC with a 2080ti, same issue.
I have updated every driver and firmware possible, nothing has fixed this. Any ideas?

I have the same problem. Purchased a Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 monitor. Almost always doesn't detect the display port when I turn on my computer (when the monitor is in sleep mode). Just goes to the 60s for DP to be detected.
If I immediately turn off and on my computer, everything is fine.
If I turn off the monitor (via the power switch on the remote control) after shutting down my computer, and then wait a minute after turning on my computer before manually turning on the monitor (via the remote control), then everything is good.
I've tried multiple computers that have never had a problem for over a year and only a problem with this monitor. This is incredibly frustrating, especially considering how expensive this monitor is.
I would in no way recommend this monitor.

Same here. Bought Odyssey G7 a month ago. It's impossible to work with - never detects the display port so I randomly turn it off and on until it finds the pc. Sometimes it takes up to 10 minutes or I just reboot if I'm in the hurry - sadly my pc is also high end so my patience with it has just come to an end. What frustrates me most is that Samsung offers no solution to it and completely ignores the issue. Overpriced garbage - that's what it is.

I've done further experimenting and replaced the DP cable with the one supplied with the monitor (I was using a previous ~2yr old cable)
I think the problems are more than just the DP port. I think that Samsung has stupidly applied TV use cases to a gaming monitor and forgotten that pc monitors often have to switch between devices. They seem more interested in showing ads on the home screen, presuming users are simplistic in their needs, do not switch between devices, and do not understand what HDMI, DP, etc are.
So annoying that I cannot at least manually tell it to use a specific input and it just use it, instead it thinks it's smarter than I and will only let me choose what it thinks exist. The level of dumbness it applies to users is insulting and at the point where I will tell all people I know to avoid Samsung.

I recently purchased the Odyssey Neo G7 43", the model which supports DP1.4 @ 144Hz, not the one with the upgraded HDMI.
I've been experiencing the same issues as everyone else here, even as far as the support related points. It's very painful to call in and explain these things. In my case, I ended up getting put into the business queue and spoke to a kind person that sort of dug into the issue. Again, my symptoms are the same, DP connected and once the system goes to sleep or locked, the connection to the PC fails to get recognized on awake.
My system: i7 9900K, RTX 2080
Monitors: Samsung 43" Odyssey Neo G7 (DP), LG 32" 4K (DP), EVE 27" Spectrum (DP)
Odyssey Firmware: 1520.9
I was told during my conversation that the Display Port on Samsung monitors are Passive and the card or system OS needs to tell the monitor it's alive. I really don't have any way to test this but given that even the included cable wasn't capable of identifying the monitor I don't know how much stock I can put into it. Passive ports haven't been a thing for a number of years. I'm very surprised they would go this route on a higher end monitor. I believe DP++ was a thing years back, but not now. Even if I were to go this route, you CANNOT find an adapter that supports 4k at anything over 60Hz.
Furthermore, if this were the case, it should certainly be declared somewhere on the support page or FAQ's. I bought the monitor for DP @ 144Hz, not for it to work once and then need to reboot my machine each time I come back to it.
I've seen other reddit posts indicating that the DP is being set with a Deep Sleep mode on these units but I couldn't get any confirmation on this from my conversation. I'm seeing multiple conversations going around about this issue though. In some cases, a solution was an update to the monitor (Samsung) firmware. I saw this issue before and after updating the firmware.
I'm expecting a call back from their engineering dept once they look into it a bit more. I hope to have some additional info on it soon. I'll update with a video illustrating my issue soon just for documentation purposes.

So it looks like the DP is not properly sending an EDID and once it goes to sleep, a GPU is unable to instantiate the connection because it doesn't know what it is. This is absurd. Also, if I were to even entertain going with an Active cable, you cannot find anything that supports DP1.4 @ 120Hz (which btw, is what the manual claims is the native resolution/refresh rate).
I really believe this display was clearly not intended to be used as a PC monitor via Display Port. I feel like this is a bit of false advertising. The unit didn't even come with an HDMI cable so definitely it's intended to be connected via DP. Mind you, again, the INCLUDED DP cable failed to negotiate to the point the GPU was unable to even recognize the monitor type. It just said Generic Display @ 60Hz. I'm really kind of stumped.
I'm not very hopeful that they will be releasing any kind of firmware update to fix it but maybe.
Shortly after my call with the Business team at Samsung, I got a call from an EVGA engineer and we went on to troubleshoot the issue. They have a method which is used to sort of force detection of TV like displays and even that doesn't work.
The attached image illustrates where to find the setting. Since I'm connected via HDMI @ 60Hz, it's not selected. To enable, click the Rigorous Display Detection option. That will enable the Force TV detection and you can try to reboot the system. I found that once I clicked the button, the item below it had been selected but the option to reboot was still greyed out.
I'll be calling in to convey this new info but I wanted to add some additional details here for anyone else having problems.

Thank you for all your hard work and effort, but, again, IT IS NOT OUR JOB, at least not mine to figure out what the hell is wrong with brand new, quite costly monitor. But, thank you for trying.

@Incursori , I guess if we don't advocate for ourselves, no one else will.
It's also very curious that I cannot find our model number (LS43CG700NNXZA) on the Samsung website. I can see the other version of it (LS43CG702NNXZA). I also see that it has a newer firmware than the one I have currently sitting at 1602.4 vs. mine which is 1520.9.
I have checked and I do not see any updates via SmartHub so I don't have any path forward for the moment. I'll be contacting the Business team again about this tomorrow. If you'd like to contact them, you can call 866-726-4249 Options # 3, # 1 and then # 2.
It would probably be helpful if more people called in about this issue. I will update after that call.

I have a 702N with the latest firmware, purchased a week ago, and I'm having the same issue. I'm wanting to return it now because it is aggravating that a monitor of this price and "quality" has these issues. What makes me even more unhappy is I bought is on a zero interest for 12 months promo and now if I return it, I can't just buy something different under the same promo.
