For people that has scanlines on their G7/G9/Neo G9 and having difficulties to reach basic Samsung monitor support in their country, I was able to reach the Samsung HQ and got their answer: "Scanlines are because of the limitations of the screen". While Samsung HQ admitted it , there was some confusion with my support saying that some people may say that it is all the monitors that has this problem but my support said it is not all :
" when you search the internet for an problem about an product it will always look like it is an major issue and that every product has that issue. This is an distorted view. The reason this view is distorted is because we can see the full picture.Let 's take this case for example. You have scanlines on your monitor. Of course you think "Wait is this normal?"The next thing you do is you do an google search and here you find an 1000 post about people with the same problem.Of course all alarm bels will go of and you will think that every monitor has the same problem.how ever what you can not see is the amount of monitors that have been sold world wide and do not have that issue. If there were sold 1 million devices and of those 1 million 1.000 have an problem. it is still an amazing product. but the 999.000 people who have an great monitor with out issues.will not post about it. "
They ask me if I could give them the monitor to inspect that on their side and give a replacement but I refused because I don't know if it will be the same [also what is the point if Samsung HQ admitted it's due to limits of the screen]...
Later after I ended discussion with my support, Neo G9 got released : HDR issues, scanlines [again problems appear whenever they release a monitor] -> this proof that the example of situation that my support explained to me was totally wrong.
I have scanlines for these images, but maybe it will be different for you:

(Scanlines are more visible when refresh rate is at max (240 Hz))
Recently, I noticed that people are having scanlines issue with some colors (such as blue, orange, purple) but not on the entire screen anymore, maybe Samsung did their best to fix the issue as they said it was due to the limitations of the screen.
------Pixel inversion issue on most of Odyssey G7 32" :on pixel inversion tests paterns like lagom.nl : there are some spots (green/blue/red/white) where pixels are flikering. When moving the test pattern (moving the window), these spots do not change place. They only change place when modyfing settings of the monitor [sharpness/contrast/color/black equalizer] or color of image like Night Light on Windows.Video:https://youtu.be/gzj_U5jrOfghttps://youtu.be/nEQL8BDCJlchttps://youtu.be/n2yJyP9r35QI know that nobody would watch test pattern in their daily use of that monitor, but now that websites started to add dark mode , I started to notice pixels flikering on lines (reddit post/ youtube/google search bar or in LoL)Scanlines i can forget since it only appear on specific image but seeing pixels flikering on my daily usage....Image where pixels are flickering:https://i.rtings.com/assets/pages/mXrNo92Z/flicker-test-large.jpg http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php#invpattern (in some test patterns you can switch with the arrows on top left)https://s1.1zoom.me/b5050/718/Chery_Jetour_X70_Coupe_2020_Red_Metallic_Front_606878_2560x1440.jpg
Update: new batches of Odyssey G7 32" use the updated panel in most cases

I got my G9 a few days ago and I too have this problem. Being doing a ton of research on this to try and understand if it's a genuine problem on G9/G9 Neo units OR it affects any large ultrawide panel running at 240hz.
OR is this a problem with the OS? With all the testing I've been doing, the scanline issue is COMPLETELY fixed for me, if I run the following setup: 5120 x 1440, 240hz, VRR:ON, G-Sync:On, Adaptive Sync:On and Display Scale: 125%.
If I change the monitors refresh rate to 120Hz + normal Display Scale set to 100% it minimises the impact of the scanlines. Changing the display scale fixes it completely for me, but I don't want to run the monitor at 125% scale, defeats the point of having such a big screen!!
Has anyone else tested changing the display scale?

No, I don't' want to set my screen in any scale So I haven't tested it because that not my desires state. And I think the screen shall not have this kind of issues with any scale.
And it's so annoying that Samsung don't feel they have created the worst ***** as a monitor ever. And say there is no issue. When they can't deliver any unit that works with the specs.
You shall not have scan-lines on 240hz if it's a 240hz.
You shall not have flicker when different areas change color on different parts on the screen.
And so on...
I'm on my second Neo Still same problem. I had 4 different old G9 same problem.
I have tested everything even on two laptops to make sure it's not my Nvidia 3090 who has the problem. And I get the same issues on ally my screens in the past with the same testing.
Sadly the laptops can't produce 240hz. So only test HDMI in 144hz and 120hz.
And DisplayPort in 120 hz. And my desktop in 100-240hz with DP and HDMI 120-144hz.
Same issues.
So we are just screwed by Samsung. And because they never act they lost a customer.
I will never buy there phones, tv or monitors any more because of the lack of respect for us as customers.

I just got a neo g9. Im a videoeditor and need two monitors for work, so the Neo felt like a great buy...
I had scanlines in the green, blue and yellow color spectrums. I had them even in 120hz, I thought that it might go away if I upgrade the firmware to 1008, but it was still there. so I ended up returned it and are now waiting for a replacement. If that one also have scanlines im going to return it and get my money back.
Everything ive read about this monitor after getting all sorts of issues with it(scanlines is just the top of the iceberg) makes me think that I have 5% chance of getting a monitor that actually works properly.

Me and my friend bought G7 32" end of last year, so been a full year now with these. Ever since i got the monitor i always had these scanlines on orange / yellow and abit of red colours... some games are completely fine that you forget about it or barely see it while others show it alot.. so it all comes down to what games ppl play.
And these scanlines ***** me off till this day.. i even see them (imagine them) when i don't see them.
My friend who has the exact same setup doesn't see them.... UNLESS I POINT IT OUT TO HIM or he thinks it normal / doesn't bother him.. or just blind. (He can see them better on those links) Compared to him i have good eye for detail hence i can spot it better. This is where the other "million" ppl don't have trouble.. it's because they havn't noticed it enough.
(Edit: i forgot to say that my friend has yet to even update his monitor, so that may be why he can't see them well making it that the driver 1009.3 + just made it worse.
The only slight fix it atm.. is to turn off Freesync and put the monitor to 144hz, it's barely seeable then but doable.. otherwise 60hz fixes it. But we all paid around £600 for a 240hz monitor.

If only i could play at 144hz without scanlines, i would be extremely happy. My 32” G7 doesnt show scanlines only at 60hz. The sad part and the reason i will never again buy a Samsung product is their customer support. I wasted 700€ on this monitor and Samsung is telling me that the monitor is fine even thinit has visinle scanlines and i also got a deadpixel right in the middle of the screen. Lesson learned i guess.

I have an question @Shashu since you have a G7 32" : do you also have pixel inversion problem ?
Here's a link for pixel inversion test : http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php#invpattern
On the top left, you'll see "Current: None". Use the arrows to see the different test patterns (from 1 to 7b). Could you tell me if you see spots where pixels flicker ? If no, could you try again but with a different Picture Mode until you see something (in the odyssey menu [Picture > Picture Mode]) ?

Nothing sadly, i have no problems with that apart from making the whole monitor show scanlines everywhere.
I do have the latest driver for the monitor as well as a driver on the PC for the monitor that samsung gave me which may fixed any flickering issues.

I found this topic because i noticed (just like stated above, with mainly red and blue colors) scanlines in the corners of my screen.
So i remembered i had the Eye Saver Mode on.
I turned it off, my screen got so very bright, because i have my Dynamic Contrast set to Ultimate.
But, with the Eye Saved Mode off, and dynamic contrast set to ultimate, i have no problem at all.
I just thought i'd be so kind to share this with you. Hope it helps someone else also.

Problem with that i have to use eye server mode due to dry and sensitive eyes, this is the problem with these monitors is we are paying premium money £600+ on a monitor that we are limited on settings because majority of it makes the scanlines worse while other reduce it or if u get it right.. u might be able to fix it but u are stuck with that setting.
I did however went to test it and no it does not fix it, yellow and orange still show scanlines. 😞

@Shashu so you're telling me you don't have this problem on 11 test parterns [+same result for every Picture Mode (so 8 x 11 you checked in total)] , right?
(also, if you want, try from 0-100 for contrast or sharpness)
If you don't know how it looks, these videos are an example of the problem :
https://youtu.be/7Zm78OToG6Y
https://youtu.be/r2pEzgTaw4o?t=101
https://youtu.be/gzj_U5jrOfg
https://youtu.be/CwADVqX2WE4
Please confirm me again if you don't have that problem.
And I have 2 other questions :
1 .Do you see some pixels that are flickering on this image ? ( https://i.rtings.com/assets/pages/mXrNo92Z/flicker-test-large.jpg )
2. Are you on HDMI or DisplayPort ?
