HW-Q800A - can't connect to WiFi as the soundbar doesn't register through SmartThings on my Samsung Account

I've recently bought a new soundbar - HW-Q800A, but from the start have had issues setting it up. Currently, I cannot get it connected to WiFi netowork. SmartThings App recognises new equipment and starts the set up process, but ends up with an error as the product cannot be registered to my Samsung Account. I've tried the fix solutions provided on the app - (switch off the soundbar, restart the router etc) - but nothing has worked.

Anyone experiencing the same issue?

I got mine to work. What I did was uninstall Smartthings and unplug the soundbar. rebooted the phone, reinstalled Smartthings and plugged in the soundbar. It found the soundbar right away but still had a problem so I deleted the soundbar and readded the sound bar and it worked. The firmware was up to date and I had the 2 step on.

I have a Samsung Q800B.  It keeps falling off Wifi, incredibly frustrating for how expensive this is.

Had the same issue…

first and MOST important thing to do is update the firmware on the Soundbar.  It will not work if it is not up to date.

second is to enable 2 factor authentication on your smart things app and Samsung account

next

when you first connect it to the WiFi it will show that it is connected to your WiFi before the registration step. If it is not showing connected in this step put your WiFi password back in.  Stay very close to your soundboard during the process

Using Samsung support, in the end they had me unplug everything (main bar and subwoofer) and plug it back in.  It worked. Unfortunately this is the second time it’s happened so I’m am hoping it’s not a continuous problem.

I had exactly the same problem.  I solved it by switching off the router, unplugging the TV and soundbar. I then turned on the router, and after it had stabilised, turned the TV and soundbar back on. The soundbar WiFi now connected.

Thank you so much. I thought I had tried everything. That sequence worked flawlessly.
