Update:
Fixed the problem. Turned everything off, restarted all devices swapped the Wi-Fi from using my extender to connecting directly to the router, deleted and re-added the soundbar and then it worked. Not sure what part of this made the difference but it fixed. I am not sure how to delete with post now but thank you if you did stop to read it.
Hello everyone,
I am wondering if anyone can help shed any light on this issue?
My HW-Q700A soundbar is connected on my home Wi-Fi with no problem, the smart things app finds it, Spotify lists it as a device and the soundbar display responds when it turns the volume up and down through both the apps. However, there is no sound from the bar at all in this mode.
Bluetooth audio connects with no issue so the bar definitely works, just not over Spotify and Wi-Fi.
Any suggestions would be welcome as it all appears to connect but with no sound.
Many thanks

Franci2, great news, is this SAT-iMX8M21WWC-1011.0.zip for HW-Q950A?

Hello @damzan ,
the feedback refers to the HW-950A(ZG) model, but I just looked on the Samsung homepage under Downloads and compared both soundbars. The following update (old version) is available for both soundbars (HW-Q700 and HW-Q950A): Version 1010.1 607.01 MB 01/05/2022 (old version)
Here are the links, you can check it out for yourself here
HW-Q700
https://www.samsung.com/de/support/model/HW-Q700A/ZG/#downloads
HW-Q950A
https://www.samsung.com/de/support/model/HW-Q950A/ZG/#downloads
So I assume that the operating system is compatible for both sound systems and therefore, in my opinion, the new version (see link in my previous post) should also be usable for this soundbar.
However, if you want to be on the safe side, I recommend asking/contacting Samsung Support.

Well, I could try this on my q700, but I’m curious if helped on your soundbar? It’s such an annoying problem! I switched from Sonos to Samsung, but to be honest, I do regret this. If I knew this i never switched. You update isn’t rolled out yet for both our soundbars.

It's been more than one year that users all around the globe report this issue and neither Samsung nor Spotify have done something. This is a shame. As of now, the only reliable way to fix the issue is to unplug the soundbar from electricity, wait for a few minutes and plug it back in. I dunno what this triggers into the soundbar, but afterwards it works immediately.
Samsung could you do something about it?!

It seems neither samsung nor spotify don't really care. I also still have this issue after a year or so, no fw update has been made available at all.

I am so pissed off!! It's an high end product and a simple firmware upgrade could easily solve the issue, but no one cares. It's true that once they sell a product, they don't care about user satisfaction and post-sell support.

What is that? If it's a new firmware, why isn't that available as an official Samsung firmware update from the SmartThings app?
