Hello, I am using a PS5 (set to bitstream) with my Samsung UE50TU8500 TV and Samsung HW-Q70T soundbar. eARC is enabled, as well as HDMI CEC.
I cannot get DTS:X to work over eARC. However, I can get Dolby Atmos to work.
I can only get DTS:X to work if I swap instead to HDMI into the soundbar. This is OK, however it means when I get a dedicated 4K Blu Ray player that supports DTS:X and Atmos - I will have to keep swapping the cable on my sound bar.
According to this: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/tv-audio-video/what-is-earc-and-how-to-set-on-samsung-smart-tv/ - either both should work or none of them should work.
Can anyone tell me if DTS:X uses more bandwidth than Atmos? I believe I'm using a HDMI 2.0 cable. What I don't understand is why Atmos still works. To be certain I have ordered a 2.1 cable. But any advice anyone might have would be really appreciated.
