BD-C5900 power and play/pause flashing. No output

As title suggests, Blu Ray player BD-C5900 power and play/pause buttons are flashing in sync once a second or so.

There is now HDMI output (very rarely for a brief split second the TV will recognize that the HDMI is receiving input).

Holding all buttons individually for over 10 seconds doesn't appear to cause a reset of any sort.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
